Citywide EMS workers are coming together with over 3,000 First Responders from across New York State to build power and the strongest voice in our jobs by forming our union in 1199SEIU.

In the midst of contract negotiations, AMR announced they will be closing their Mount Vernon location at the end of the year because of dwindling call volume and a decreased demand for mutual aid services. Let’s be clear: the Mount Vernon garage closing is a result of AMR’s mismanagement and not the 1199 AMR members working tirelessly to improve their wages and working conditions. Local 741 tries to spread lies about 1199 AMR members because they’re considered in bed with management and don’t want us to win our union. Management will do everything in their power to stop Citywide workers because when we win, management will have to share decision-making and resources with us. AMR members show us that when 1199 EMS workers stand together in courage and unity, we can protect and defend our profession and our futures even in difficult circumstances. Let’s all stand strong and vote yes for 1199! Don’t believe Local 741’s lies attacking our fellow first responders on behalf of management.
